Getting a Firsthand Look at the Workplace – Students Visit FISCHER LICHT & METALL

Hands-on Experience Instead of the Classroom: On Tuesday and Wednesday, we welcomed the 8th-grade classes from Berching Secondary School and Martini School in Freystadt to our company. The goal was to give the students a realistic insight into our apprenticeship programs and the day-to-day work at FISCHER LICHT & METALL.

After a brief introduction to our company and our apprenticeship programs, we got right down to business. During a tour of our production facilities, the students experienced our operations firsthand and got a look behind the scenes. It quickly became clear just how diverse and exciting the processes in a modern industrial company are.

A special highlight was the hands-on experience: with skill and craftsmanship, the students created their own metal pieces. Whether it was a car-shaped pencil holder or delicate flowers—the results were impressive and filled the participants with visible pride.

Days like these show how important it is to gain practical experience early on and explore different career fields. This is the only way to develop a genuine understanding of one’s own interests and strengths.

We would like to express our sincere thanks for the visit and the successful exchange. At the same time, we look forward to welcoming some of the students back to us this summer for an internship.

Anyone who would like to immerse themselves in our working world has the opportunity to do so through our All-in-1 internship: Here, participants follow a product’s entire journey—from the initial idea through production to the finished result. This gives them a comprehensive insight into our processes. More information is available at:  https://www.fischer-lum.de/karriere/praktikum
