The Fischer watch is back – modernised and with a new design
It is a symbol of Mühlhausen like no other: the FISCHER clock. Since 1958, it has been a familiar feature of our location in Mühlhausen and a trusted landmark for many residents. Now, it is returning to its place, technically modernised and redesigned.
A piece of company and local history
The FISCHER clock was installed in the late 1950s – at a time when public clocks played an important role in everyday life. For our company, it was more than just a timepiece from the very beginning: it was and is an expression of our connection to Mühlhausen and the Sulzgemeinde.
Having our own clock at the production site was an obvious investment at the time – and remains a visible sign of our regional roots to this day.
State-of-the-art technology
Last year, the clock had to be taken out of service. The technology was outdated and could no longer guarantee reliable timekeeping. However, one thing was clear to us: the FISCHER clock had to be up and running again.
In the course of the modernisation, the inner workings were completely renewed. The new clockwork meets current technical standards and will ensure precise and stable functioning in the future. This means that the FISCHER clock is well equipped for the coming years.
New look with digital connection
In addition to the technical overhaul, the design has also been carefully refined. The striking blue tone, clear design and minimalist styling reflect our current brand identity and give the clock a contemporary look.
A QR code has also been newly integrated, which links directly to current events and information about FISCHER LICHT & METALL. The FISCHER clock thus combines tradition with digital relevance – visible in public spaces and at the same time connected to today's world of communication.
It was important to us to preserve its identity. The FISCHER clock remains a familiar landmark – but now has a modern look and offers additional value for citizens.
Meeting place and place of remembrance
For decades, the clock was not only a timekeeper, but also a meeting place – for employees, young people and many citizens. Numerous personal memories are associated with it.
We are particularly pleased that it is now visible and functional again. It symbolises consistency, further development and our close connection to the region.
Preserving tradition, shaping the future
As a fourth-generation family-run business, we combine innovation with responsibility towards our location. The modernisation of the FISCHER clock is a visible sign of this: we preserve what defines us – and develop it further.
At FISCHER LICHT & METALL, time never stands still – and we are delighted that the FISCHER clock will remain an integral part of the Sulz community in the future.
