Tradition meets modernity: Topping-out ceremony for the new high-tech logistics hall

With a festive topping-out ceremony on 2 October 2025, FISCHER LICHT & METALL reached an important milestone: the new logistics and loading hall was officially inaugurated. More than 200 employees and numerous guests of honour from politics, business and trade celebrated together the progress that sets the course for the future of the company.

A quantum leap for our logistics

With state-of-the-art warehouse technology and digital control, the new hall will ensure faster, more efficient and even more customer-oriented processes in the future.
‘In logistics in particular, adherence to deadlines and accuracy are decisive factors in customer satisfaction,’ emphasises Benjamin Köbl, Technical Production Manager and Project Manager.
The hall reduces the workload on employees, improves working conditions and makes FISCHER more flexible and future-proof.

Fourth generation loyalty to the location

‘If our owner were called Amazon, we would have moved to Eastern Europe long ago. But we are consciously investing here – in the people, the region and our customers,’ said Stephan K. Fischer, managing partner, with a wink at the topping-out ceremony.
Since its foundation in 1929, FISCHER has stood for down-to-earthness and innovative strength. The family-owned company remains loyal to its home region – and invests in a sustainable future.

Politicians and partners on board

FISCHER welcomed Dr Martin Hundsdorfer (Mayor of Mühlhausen), District Administrator Willibald Gailler and Dr Katharina Ziegler (CSU, District Administrator candidate) to the ceremony.
The traditional speech by Uwe Orend (PEM Hallenbau) and the symbolic breaking of the glass were highlights of the day and underscored the close cooperation between architects, construction companies and suppliers.

‘We remain loyal to our location because we believe in the people here. That has been part of our DNA since 1929,’ summarises Stephan K. Fischer.
For Benjamin Köbl, the hall is ‘like building a house – well thought-out, planned and future-proof. It makes us faster, stronger and even more customer-oriented.’

With its investment in the new logistics hall, FISCHER is demonstrating that tradition and progress go hand in hand – and reaffirming its promise to secure jobs and added value in the region.
