New apprentices strengthen FISCHER Licht & Metall

Professional diversity

Mühlhausen. On September 1, seven apprentices started their professional careers at FISCHER Licht & Metall again this year.

Five young adults decided to train as construction mechanics, one as an electrical systems fitter and another will learn the profession of sign and light sign maker in the next few years.

With this year's new additions, there are now 24 trainees in three cohorts at the company. The resulting training quota of just under 12% is thus at the absolute top of the national average.

In the course of their 3 to 3.5-year training period, the newcomers will get to know the various departments and gain valuable professional experience at FISCHER Licht & Metall.

Stephan K. Fischer, Managing Director of the 200-strong company, welcomed the new trainees and emphasized the importance of a sound apprenticeship: "We are countering the shortage of skilled workers with solid and qualified training. Because investing in our junior staff today, is a competitive advantage tomorrow."

Following the welcome, the new apprentices toured the plant and were assigned to the individual departments.
