THE FISCHER CLOCK IS BEING MODERNISED – IT WILL SOON BE RUNNING AGAIN!

A familiar sight is currently at rest: the FISCHER clock at the Fischerkurve is not showing the time. But don't worry: Mühlhausen's landmark is undergoing a technical update so that it will soon be reliably displaying the time again.

To charmingly bridge the waiting time, the clock is adorned with a round sticker in FISCHER blue with a tongue-in-cheek message and a QR code that leads here. This means that even during this short break, the clock remains an eye-catcher and reminds us that at FISCHER Licht & Metall, time never really stands still.

A landmark in motion

For decades, the FISCHER clock has been a familiar sight in Mühlhausen. One of the most famous landmarks in the district, it was donated by the Fischer family in 1958 and erected in what was then the town centre – clearly visible to everyone passing through Mühlhausen.

Stephan K. Fischer, managing partner of the fourth-generation family business, explains:

"Back in the 1950s and 1960s, we worked with the Frankfurt-based company Telefonbau und Normalzeit (T&N) to manufacture numerous large grandfather clocks with neon lighting for cities around the world. Having our own clock at the production site was an obvious symbol at the time – and it has remained so to this day. "

With the redesign of the intersection in 1992, the clock entered its second generation, before the elegant gold design stele we know today was erected in 2017. This version, built according to the company's own F01 design from the protected Fdesign line, combines classic forms with modern technology – a true example of FISCHER's guiding principle of ‘INNOVATION FROM TRADITION’.

When time stands still for a moment...

Even the most precise clock occasionally needs a technical update. The current overhaul will ensure that the FISCHER clock will soon be running accurately again – as a symbol of reliability, progress and local ties.

‘The clock stands for consistency – and at the same time for the willingness to constantly evolve,’ says Stephan K. Fischer. ‘The fact that it has stopped is just a brief pause on the way to the next generation.’

The clock will soon be running again – with its usual splendour and expressiveness:

FISCHER – innovation based on tradition.
